Awards for Early-Career Female Researchers

Particularly pleasing from the perspective of IMC Krems were the awards presented to two researchers from the Institute of Biotechnology. Judith Viñes Rodríguez was honoured for her Master's thesis, “Functional Characterisation of AXL in Colorectal Cancer”. The EUSAAT 3R Special Award was presented to Romana Eisenbock for her research on the cultivation of limbal stem cells derived from human corneas. Both projects make significant contributions to the advancement of biomedical research and highlight the high quality of research and education at IMC Krems.

Further awards were presented to Stefanie Weiss and Sophie Edtmayer from Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences. Their research focuses on new insights and therapeutic approaches in the field of acute myeloid leukaemia and was recognised in the categories “Scientific Publication” and “PhD”, respectively.

Initiated by ecoplus, the Business Agency of Lower Austria, the Krems Cooperation Research Award honours outstanding scientific achievements in the field of life sciences. Its aim is to increase the visibility of excellent research, support the next generation of scientists, and further strengthen collaboration between universities, research institutions, and companies at Technopol Krems.
