Whether it's an instructional video, audio recording or project presentation, we support teachers and students in creating and editing media content for teaching and research. The MediaLab offers modern editing suites, a video and audio studio, and the option to borrow individual devices.
We are also happy to advise teachers on didactic issues and the practical use of digital tools in the classroom.
Do you have an idea for your teaching or a project? We are happy to support you in its implementation – technically, didactically and creatively.

A particular focus is placed on the design and production of varied and professionally designed teaching units for distance learning. For students, this offering means one thing above all else: cutting-edge teaching with numerous blended learning elements.
Innovative teaching
Didactics and new media
The Teaching & Media Services team is available to answer any questions you may have about using existing software and developing and implementing teaching ideas.
The combination of different media and methods guarantees variety throughout the academic year. The core tasks include the didactic preparation and support of complex topics for different target groups.
The team develops framework concepts ranging from simple to complex learning architectures. Together with the teaching staff, individual solutions are developed that are best suited to the course or learning content.
Whether interactive PowerPoint presentations for the lecture hall, completely open-licensed online courses or podcasts for blended learning units – the end result is always a sustainable, didactically well-thought-out product.
Innovative ideas, professional implementation
Project planning and management
Flexibility is the great talent of our team at MediaLab. This allows us to implement a wide range of projects. From the initial idea to the finished video – everything is tailored to individual goals and delivered from a single source.
The team provides support in creating concepts and storyboards for videos, helps with production planning and handles the actual filming. Professional and appealing videos are created through clean editing, animations and effects, and coordinated music and sound design.
A professional studio with film and sound equipment, green screen, light board and more is available for video and audio productions.
Always up to date
Training courses & tutorials
The MediaLab regularly offers workshops on various topics related to media technology and design. For example, training courses and tutorials provide introductions to specific software applications, tips and tricks for project planning, and media content design.

The IMC Studio was set up to provide professional conditions for the production and distribution of audiovisual content. It is primarily intended for use by teaching staff and employees, but can also be used for external productions. The aim is to provide a central, modern infrastructure for communication and teaching.
The studio is managed by TMS staff, who are always present during recordings in the studio.
Productions can be streamed live or saved as video files.

Digilab
Research and teaching with digital equipment
The DigiLab serves as a central location for collecting digital equipment from various degree programmes and making it available for research and teaching across institutes in a suitable environment. The equipment is constantly adapted to future requirements and supplemented or replaced as necessary.
The DigiLab is located at Piaristengasse (P.2.04) and offers space and seating for 20 people. It is designed as a laboratory for conducting experiments and demonstrating practical exercises. If required, the adjacent seminar room (P.2.03 – 40 seats) can also be reserved to hold classes and workshops for up to 60 students. The laboratory and the adjacent seminar room can be booked via the course planning system.
The ‘DigiLab’ project arose from an initiative by the Institutes of Digitalisation and Computer Science, Therapy and Midwifery Sciences, and Nursing Sciences. It was implemented in collaboration with University Services and equipped with existing inventory and new equipment from the project budget.
If you have any questions, please contact tms(at)imc.ac.at. On Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., the DigiLab is supervised by TMS staff.
