We see putting knowledge into practice as a creative and innovative process, which we implement in partnership with our professional community of academics, administrative staff and students.
As a growing organisation, we attract employees from far and wide and are fully committed to supporting your professional and personal development. Highly ranked in terms of both teaching and research, we offer an international working environment in the heart of the Wachau Valley UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Region. The IMC Krems community comprises our academics and other university staff, as well as our students, alumni, and academic and industry partners all over the world.
Our goal is to give our students access to the kind of expertise and research – always with a real-world focus – they need to get a head start as they embark on their careers. As part of this process, we take on the role of mentors and visionaries who foster new and creative ideas as we work to shape the future together.
We welcome collaboration between many different personality types. Both as part of our international teaching and research operations as well as our training and development activities, we are always working to ensure that our entire community is prepared for the challenges of the future. The active dialogue within a vibrant community in Austria and around the world inspires us to provide them with innovative services.
Our interactions with each other are characterised by a high degree of flexibility and mutual respect. Our relaxed, friendly campus culture is based on respect for the expertise and potential of the people who study and work at the university. Excellent support, open communication on an equal footing and short decision-making paths foster team spirit, a collegial approach and a passion for our work.
We are an innovative university
Our IMC team benefits from a wide range of internal and external continuing education programmes.
In our MehrWERT Programme, the continuing education courses are aligned with the strategic goals and corporate core competencies. Our MehrWERT Days, which always take place at the beginning of the semester, are a particularly important element in this context. On these days, the entire IMC team dedicates itself to personal development. Our employees can choose from a wide range of training courses, workshops and lectures.
LinkedIn Learning is another important component of our training and development programme. Completing the online courses saves our employees’ time resources through flexible learning. Thanks to this innovative and contemporary programme, the IMC team is perfectly prepared for future challenges.
We are a healthy university
Health in the workplace is very important at IMC Krems.
With our Element Health Programme, we support the IMC team in promoting physical and mental health.
Typically, our measures are based on the three pillars of exercise, nutrition and psyche.
In addition to joint activities, lectures and workshops, we also offer the IMC team packages including individually arranged appointments. There is something for everyone and individual appointments allow the greatest possible flexibility.
Occupational health care directly on site rounds off the health promotion programme for the IMC team.
We are a family-friendly university
With our Family Matters Programme, we have been taking measures for many years to make it easier to balance family life, career and studies at IMC Krems.
In addition to childcare services, these measures include care counselling, back-to-work programmes, flexible working time models, working from home, sabbaticals and a comprehensive selection of training and development courses and various benefits.
Through its participation in the hochschuleundfamilie audit, which earned the university the state seal of approval, IMC Krems has once again demonstrated its family-friendly credentials. Particularly in academic research, maintaining a healthy balance between career opportunities and the needs of family life can pose a considerable challenge.
As an employer and educational institution, IMC Krems plays a key role in helping to provide employees, lecturers and students with a family-friendly working and learning environment.
Additional benefits
We offer our employees a high degree of flexibility when it comes to striking the kind of work-life balance that’s best for them. Through a range of models including flexitime arrangements, working from home and various sabbatical options, we promote a culture that is shaped by trust and actively encourages employees to take individual responsibility and adopt an independent mindset.
To ensure that we are always in a position to make fresh breakthroughs together that lead to groundbreaking findings, we have to make sure that our research methods are in line with the national and international state of the art at all times. This is why we work with the most advanced technologies as part of an innovative, agile and young corporate culture.
Paris, Saigon or Helsinki? Members of the IMC Team not only benefit from working in an international environment in the middle of Krems; they have the opportunity to find out more about other partner institutions in all participating Erasmus+ programme and partner countries as part of our teaching or staff mobility scheme.
The development of our employees is of central importance to our university. This starts with the training of apprentices, to whom we offer comprehensive training at IMC Krems, and extends to personal career development using our career models.
In our core areas of teaching and research, you can plan your own career with the help of an academic career model. This provides security, prospects and transparency.
Treating each other with respect and appreciation, an active feedback culture and the inclusion of all those involved in decision-making processes are key principles that are close to our hearts.
These topics, which seem so self-evident, have been laid down in a binding code of conduct in order to raise awareness of these essential values.
Diversity in the team
As an international and innovative university, we want to take advantage of the opportunities that diversity presents and are therefore clearly committed to responsible and respectful treatment of a range of different values.
Our diversity management systems help us to identify differences and similarities between our stakeholders and critically reflect on our procedures. In this way, we can ensure equal access to resources such as education and employment for all.
