We shape innovation, nurture talent and create sustainable added value for students, business and society

In addition to national and international networking, the focus is also on excellent links with regional businesses, where well-established collaborations have traditionally been in place. IMC Krems now has 30 strategic partnerships spread across the Business, Science & Technology and Health departments. “Strategic partnerships are a key factor in IMC Krems’ success. Together with leading companies, we shape innovation, nurture talent and create sustainable added value for students, business and society,” says IMC Krems Chief Operating Officer Bernhard Dollensky
The overarching aim is, on the one hand, to provide students with exclusive opportunities to engage with established companies and thereby open doors to future employers. The companies and institutions, for their part, are set to benefit from IMC Krems’ expertise and research work whilst establishing valuable connections with promising talent at an early stage.
Implementation underway: plenty of input and creative work
Together with strategic partner Kansai Helios, Dominik Schild from the Institute of Biotechnology has launched the “EcoCoat” research project. This involves using a morphodostat system – in other words, directed evolution – to encourage organisms to break down organic residues in Kansai Helios’s wash water. Until now, this wastewater has been so heavily polluted that it had to be incinerated.
Building on the “Business Administration & Digital Management” degree programme, programme director Doris Berger-Grabner has designed a course in collaboration with strategic partner Raiffeisen Bank. The “Digital Management” Executive Certificate aims to impart key competencies in modern business management in a concise format – with a particular focus on corporate AI, digital transformation & process management, and digital sales strategies & online marketing.
A team from the Nursing Institute visited the research and development facilities of strategic partner Philips, which led to an intensive exchange of ideas and provided fascinating insights into research and development. Discussions on future innovations marked the beginning of an even closer and stronger collaboration. Together, IMC Krems and Philips are rethinking healthcare provision, technology, research and education – with the aim of actively shaping the healthcare of tomorrow.
Thanks to the strategic partnership, even closer ties have been forged with long-standing partners such as Österreich Werbung, where countless IMC students have already completed work placements at its international locations.
