Mag. Heinz Boyer, who are making the successful implementation of the summer schools possible.

The international character of the IMC Krems campus is palpable even during the summer months. Two exclusively developed summer schools once again highlight the vision: “International. Innovative. IMC Krems.”

Hospitality training at the highest level

A particular highlight is the visit of 25 students from King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh. KSU currently ranks 107th in the renowned QS World University Rankings, placing it among the world’s leading universities. For the students enrolled in the “Intermediate Hotel Management Diploma”, a joint programme offered by KSU and IMC Krems, the four weeks in Austria form the final practical component of their training.

The hospitality training is being delivered in close cooperation with the Economic Chamber of Lower Austria/WIFI and draws on IMC Krems’ many years of expertise in the field of tourism. In addition to classes on campus, numerous practical sessions and professional field trips provide students with a varied and hands-on insight into the industry. These include a visit to the Park Hyatt hotel in Vienna.

Future-focused: sustainability, food technology and biotechnology

At the same time, students from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) are completing a two-week intensive programme at IMC Krems. The programme focuses on current and future-oriented topics such as sustainability, food technology and biotechnology.

Here too, particular emphasis is placed on combining theory and practice. Field trips to innovative companies such as SONNENTOR provide participants with fascinating insights into the regional economy while also demonstrating IMC Krems’ close network of successful companies and institutions.

“Seeing our campus come alive even during the summer is an impressive demonstration of our strong links with industry and our commitment to practice-oriented education. By directly connecting these international students with leading Austrian companies, we create enormous added value – it is a real enrichment for campus life and further strengthens the importance of our location,” says Ulrike Prommer, CEO of IMC Krems.

“As IMC founder and Chair of the Supervisory Board Dr Heinz Boyer has always emphasised, nothing is more international than tourism, and as a small country, Austria must seek to establish strong international partnerships. These two excellent summer schools for two top universities are the direct result of our commitment to internationalisation and numerous intensive visits to Saudi Arabia and Singapore. They are a perfect representation of our global outlook,” adds Udo Brändle, CEO of IMC Krems.
