In a representative alumni survey, graduates of the IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences emphasise the internationality, high employment rate after graduation and strong identification with their alma mater.

Strong, connected, successful: IMC alumni score points with practical skills and international careers

The results of the survey impressively show that those who study with us remain committed, connected and internationally successful. From university straight into the world of work
Many students take advantage of the various opportunities to combine their studies with work while they are still studying. Almost a third of those surveyed were therefore already working while they were still studying. In addition, the vast majority of IMC graduates started their first job within the first three months after graduating.
IMC alumni take on responsibility
No less than 40 percent of respondents stated that they had personnel responsibility in their current position, and the vast majority also had a university degree that was relevant to their current job. Particularly noteworthy is the high level of international mobility: IMC alumni work in over 30 countries worldwide, often in internationally oriented companies with more than 250 employees.
Recommendation rate is 92.4 percent
The recommendation rate is a particularly pleasing result: 92.4 percent of graduates would choose to study at IMC Krems again or recommend it to others. IMC alumni offer words of praise in their comments, ranging from ‘I graduated in 2005 and have been working in hospital management for 19 years now. I am very proud to be an IMC graduate’ to ‘I am a proud graduate, above all because of the high level of professional and social competence of the teaching staff’ to ‘I had the best experience and learning from IMC, the practical experiences and the link to the industry were perfect.’
Alumni as ambassadors for practical, future-oriented education
The results underscore that IMC Krems not only provides a solid academic education, but also training that is geared towards the job market and fit for the future. This results in a clear advantage for companies: access to excellently trained, international talent with a high degree of personal responsibility, digital competence and practical experience.
Strategic orientation through alumni feedback
The alumni survey is conducted every five years to systematically collect valuable feedback from former students. The results are incorporated into the further development of course content and curricula and help IMC Krems to consistently align its educational offerings with the requirements of the job market. At the same time, they serve as an important basis for new services in the alumni area – such as networking events, further training opportunities or international cooperation formats. ‘Our alumni are important sources of inspiration. Their perspective helps us to combine innovation with practical relevance and to ensure the long-term quality of our education,’ says CEO Udo Brändle.
Details of the survey
The survey covered graduates from a wide range of disciplines who graduated between 1998 and 2023. Two-thirds of respondents were female, one-third were male, and the remainder were diverse or did not specify. Over 80 percent of IMC alumni come from Austria, with the remainder spread across European and non-European countries.
