The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were established by the United Nations as a shared framework for sustainable development. They address a wide range of issues, from good health and quality education to gender equality, responsible consumption, climate action and strong partnerships. Together, the 17 goals highlight the close connections between social, economic and environmental challenges.

Many of these topics are also relevant to everyday life at a university: in learning and teaching, research, collaboration and the use of resources. SDG Flag Day offers an opportunity to reflect on these connections and consider how the goals relate to our own fields of study and work. Which goals are particularly relevant to your area? And where can you make a contribution? The SDG cubes in the foyer encourage visitors to explore these questions and exchange ideas.

New Sustainability Team at IMC Krems

Over the summer, a Sustainability Team was established at IMC Krems. The team consists of Bernhard Dollenksy, COO and Environmental Officer, Victoria Englmaier from the CEO Project Management Office, and Alexander Mair, Deputy Head of Facility Management. SDG Flag Day provides an opportunity to bring sustainability into focus at IMC Krems. The cubes showcase the diversity of the goals and can serve as a starting point for new questions, ideas and discussions. We invite all students, staff and visitors to stop by the foyer and discover the 17 goals.
