During a meeting at Würth Austria’s headquarters in Böheimkirchen, areas of overlap were discussed; in particular, the topic of artificial intelligence and its application is currently a key focus.

Deepak Dhungana, Director of the Institute for Digitalization and Computer Science and Program Director of Informatics at IMC Krems, has already identified concrete areas of collaboration in discussions with Human Resources Director Ekaterina A. Chesnokova and Chief Financial Officer Laurenz Tanzer. The goal is to identify use cases for AI within the company and to clarify related research questions.

“We are building on a multi-year recruiting partnership and look forward to innovative, scientific insights from students through this expanded collaboration. Working together to determine how these can be implemented in corporate practice represents added value for both sides,” emphasizes Managing Director and CFO Laurenz Tanzer.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming how we work and learn. With IMC Krems, we are creating a direct channel to integrate AI literacy and practical AI applications into our learning culture. Through genuine collaboration between academia and industry, we are making a significant contribution to organizational learning in the digital age,” confirms Human Resources Director Ekaterina A. Chesnokova.

The scientific expertise from the Informatics and Engineering Responsible AI Systems degree programs is also to be incorporated into the collaboration, ensuring that both sides benefit from one another. Specifically, bachelor’s and master’s theses are to be conducted jointly. Würth Austria has already been a recruiting partner of IMC Krems, and this strategic partnership will allow for further expansion of synergies.
