The election took place on 25 November 2025 by the Academic Board of IMC Krems, which consists of the previous Academic Head, the heads of degree programmes, representatives of teaching and research staff, as well as students. The term of office of the new Academic Head and his deputy will last for four years.

“The election of Andreas Lichtenwörther and his deputy, Tanja Ihden, is a strong signal for the continued successful development of IMC Krems. Short decision-making processes and constructive dialogue within the University Management remain crucial factors. I congratulate both on their election and am pleased that we can continue on this path together,” emphasises Ulrike Prommer, CEO of IMC Krems.

“I would like to thank the University Management and the IMC team for electing me and for the trust they have placed in me. Many exciting projects lie ahead, and we will continue to provide valuable impulses for the international orientation and innovative strength of our University of Applied Sciences,” says Andreas Lichtenwörther in his initial statement.

“I particularly value the supportive culture, flat hierarchies and agile decision-making at IMC Krems. I look forward to a positive and successful collaboration,” adds Tanja Ihden.
