Under the theme "Learning from each other – sharing experiences, taking away ideas", IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences welcomed its full-time and part-time lecturers to this year's Teaching Conference. The event provided a platform for exchanging ideas, gaining inspiration and collaboratively advancing teaching practice.

Tanja Ihden, Deputy Academic Head, and Andreas Lichtenwörther, Academic Head, chaired the Teaching Conference.

Following the welcome address by the university management, the day's focus was on learning from one another. Lecturers took the opportunity to share experiences from their teaching practice, explore new perspectives and gather ideas to enhance the design of their courses. The open exchange not only facilitated knowledge transfer but also strengthened connections within the teaching community.

Teaching Excellence Award presented

A particular highlight of the programme was the presentation of the Teaching Excellence Award. For the first time, the award recognising outstanding teaching was presented in two categories: full-time lecturers and part-time lecturers. Christine Spevak-Grossi, Stephanie Tischler and Peter Lechner were honoured for their exceptional commitment, innovative teaching approaches and valuable contribution to the quality of teaching at IMC Krems.

Professional development in focus

At a range of themed stations, participants explored current developments and future-focused topics in greater depth. Particular attention was given to AACSB accreditation and its significance for the university's continued development, as well as the practical application of artificial intelligence in teaching. The interactive stations encouraged discussion, addressed participants' questions and provided an opportunity to exchange examples of best practice.

"Our lecturers will begin the coming academic year with a wealth of fresh ideas and new inspiration," added Tanja Ihden, Deputy Academic Head.

The event concluded with an informal get-together in a relaxed atmosphere, allowing participants to continue the day's conversations and establish new professional connections.
