Kapsch and IMC Krems aim to shape the future together

The collaboration between IMC Krems and Kapsch opens up a wide range of opportunities in the fields of innovation, research and knowledge exchange. Kapsch is an Austrian company active in the areas of toll collection, toll services, traffic management and demand management.

Strategischer Partner - Kapsch
Deepak Dhungana, Head of the Institute for Digitalisation and Computer Science / Programme Director for Informatics at IMC Krems; Roge Hage, Head of the Institute for Global Impact and Transformation / Programme Director for Digital Business Innovation and Transformation at IMC Krems; Wolfgang Rieger, HR Business Partner for Austria and Germany at Kapsch; Tatiana Rezan-Sirotinskis, T&A Partner at Kapsch; and Bernhard Dollensky, Chief Operating Officer at IMC Krems.

Both partners benefit from practical projects, close networking and direct dialogue between academia and industry.

Joint research projects & Master’s theses

One example of collaboration is funded research projects, such as programmes run by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). Here, joint developments can be driven forward and new technologies explored. Furthermore, the new strategic partner Kapsch has the opportunity to propose topics for Master’s theses and provide academic supervision for them. This results in well-founded analyses and practice-relevant outcomes.

InnovationLab: Practical projects with students

Every year from February to June, teams of students work for three to four months within the InnovationLab on real-world challenges from business practice. In future, Kapsch will be able to contribute specific questions and develop innovative solutions together with the students.

Internships and project-based assignments

Students at IMC Krems undertake compulsory internships as part of their degree programme – an opportunity for Kapsch to get to know talented young professionals. In addition, project-based assignments such as research or development projects can be carried out.

Guest lectures and courses

Experts from Kapsch can contribute their specialist knowledge in the form of guest lectures or courses at IMC Krems. This allows theoretical content to be perfectly illustrated through tangible insights into practical applications.

Company visits and workshops

Students are given the opportunity to visit Kapsch on site, take part in brainstorming sessions and engage directly with experts. This provides valuable insights into the corporate world and current technologies.
