International wine expertise meets academic excellence

IMC Krems is expanding its global network to include another strong partner: a strategic partnership has been agreed with Constellation Brands, one of the world’s leading companies in the wine, beer and spirits sector, which opens up new opportunities for students, lecturers and the international wine industry.

The partnership combines academic expertise with international practical experience. The aim is to strengthen the exchange between the university and the business world and to provide students with even deeper insights into the global wine and hospitality industries. At the same time, Constellation Brands benefits from direct contact with future specialists and managers, as well as from collaboration in research and knowledge transfer.

More practical experience for studies and research

The partnership centres on joint activities in teaching, research and industry networking. Plans include masterclasses featuring renowned brands from Constellation Brands’ portfolio, guest lectures by international industry experts, and practical projects for students. The programme is complemented by product samples, expert input and joint research initiatives addressing current issues in the wine industry.
The Bachelor’s degree programme in International Wine Business, in particular, will benefit from the collaboration. The partnership creates additional opportunities to integrate current developments in international wine markets directly into teaching and to further enhance the practical relevance of the programme.

Knowledge transfer between the university and industry

Another key focus is the joint development of applied research projects. Plans include, for example, analyses of wine lists, market studies and other projects that combine academic research questions with practical requirements. Furthermore, tastings, industry events and new formats in Krems are set to help forge links between wine, business and culture.
The personal connection to IMC Krems also plays a special role in this: Timea Szadeczky, Regional Sales Executive for DACH & SEEU at Constellation Brands and a graduate of IMC Krems, is actively committed to the collaboration and brings her international industry experience to the partnership.

Opportunities for students and alumni

Through this collaboration, students and alumni gain access to an international network, valuable industry contacts and practical insights into the workings of a globally operating company. At the same time, the partnership opens up new opportunities for joint projects, career prospects and professional exchange with experts from the international wine and hospitality sectors. “We are delighted to be partnering with IMC Krems to strengthen the link between the education sector and the wine and hospitality industries. As part of this partnership, IMC Krems will organise masterclasses on the Constellation Brands portfolio, including Robert Mondavi Winery, Robert Mondavi California, Ruffino, Kim Crawford and The Prisoner,” explains the Senior Commercial Director EMEA at Constellation Brands.
With Constellation Brands, IMC Krems gains a renowned partner that will sustainably strengthen the link between academia and practice and provide new impetus for the training of tomorrow’s wine experts.

Strategic Partnerships

Strategic partnerships at IMC Krems represent long-term collaboration with selected companies. Together, they pursue a clear vision: to sustainably combine research, teaching and practice.
