IMC Krems honoured at the first Internationalisation Award 2025

Doris Molnar, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department at IMC Krems, accepted the award on behalf of our University of Applied Sciences. She and her team achieved second place in the category Measures for a Lived International Higher Education Culture at the Internationalisation Award 2025.
This recognition officially places IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences among Austria’s most exceptional higher education institutions – those that understand internationalisation not merely as a buzzword, but as a vibrant institutional and personal practice.
Why this award matters
The Internationalisation Award, introduced by the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research (BMFWF) together with the OeAD (Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation), honours exemplary strategies and projects that contribute to the internationalisation of studies and teaching – extending beyond individual mobility opportunities and into the overall culture of a university.
With over 100 submissions from 38 universities across Austria, competition was strong and diverse. The success achieved by Doris Molnar and IMC Krems demonstrates even more clearly how our approaches have impact and set standards.
What makes us especially proud
With their project “Around the world in one semester – When an evening becomes a signpost”, Doris Molnar and her team showcased a holistic internationalisation approach – ranging from expanding international partnerships and supporting intercultural exchange, to fostering an open, globally-minded university culture. Their work illustrates how internationalisation at IMC Krems can be both everyday practice and a source of inspiration.
“For me, internationalisation means broadening horizons, embracing diversity and thinking globally – together,” says award recipient Doris Molnar.
“This award impressively confirms that lived internationalisation is a central element of our identity. It shows how committed our staff are to ensuring students have a truly global educational experience. This success motivates us to stay on this path and to continue setting internationally visible standards,” adds Udo Brändle, IMC CEO.
