A forward-looking partnership: joint initiatives strengthen research and industry

As a former chairman of the Austrian Chemical Industry Association (FCIO), he was a key pioneer in the establishment and accreditation of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Applied Chemistry and made a significant contribution to the excellence of the chemistry cluster. Another milestone in this collaboration is the joint development of the continuing education module ‘Surface Technology’, which is specifically tailored to the needs of the chemical industry. Furthermore, Hubert Culik played a key role in establishing the Master’s programme and provided formative input into its design.

For his exceptional commitment, he was awarded the title of ‘Fellow’ – a recognition of his lasting contributions to academic and industrial networking. His commitment is also evident at an international level: as part of the planning for the Smart Surface Summit conference, IMC Krems was integrated into the organising team and strengthened as a strategic partner.

Last but not least, Hubert Culik continuously supports the visibility and positioning of IMC, for example through KANSAI HELIOS’ participation in a planned COIN submission aimed at further advancing applied research. These diverse activities underscore the importance of strong cooperation between academia and industry for innovation and progress.

By signing a Memorandum of Understanding, IMC Krems is deepening its collaboration with KANSAI HELIOS.
