IMC Talk: Greentec Steel Strategy – Shaping the Future of Sustainable Industry

In this exclusive IMC Talk, Christina will provide fascinating insights into the ongoing transformation of the steel industry and voestalpine’s ambitious greentec steel strategy. The presentation is part of the course Procurement, Production and Logistics and focuses on one of Austria’s most significant industrial transformation projects.
At the heart of the presentation lies the technological shift currently being implemented at the voestalpine production site in Linz. From 2027 onwards, the project will significantly contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and demonstrates how large industrial corporations can combine sustainability, competitiveness, and innovation. Students will gain first-hand insights into how companies are responding to increasing environmental requirements, customer expectations, and the challenges of the European Green Deal.
Beyond the industry perspective, Christina Flankl will also share her personal career journey, from her studies at IMC Krems and further education at the University for Continuing Education Krems to almost a decade of professional experience within the voestalpine group. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about career paths in procurement, production, logistics, supply chain management, sustainability, and leadership within an international industrial environment.
